What is your paper arranging with guests ...

An Afternoon Bridal Tea Shower

This idealist day starts with an invitation to set the day for everyone to arrive.  The invitation usually uses a floral or teacup design that is ritually very feminine and includes a tea bag to represent the occasion.

The romantic elegance of an afternoon tea party with friends did become less and less; however, recently this tradition is becoming popular these days.  It remains the perfect surroundings for honouring a special bride.  It is a soft feminine time to relax in sophistication with light refreshments and a festive atmosphere.  This occasion is used to help the bride towards her next future steps in life.

The most important element is the planning of the many different types of teas (hot or iced – determined by the whether). Yes, coffee is usually made available for those guests wanting a coffee instead.  Traditionally, the afternoon will start with elegant China tea pots (which unfortunately I don’t have many of but I am using individual tea bags supplied by Tea Global), sugar cubes, slices of lemon, a pitcher with milk and cream and of course honey.

There is a lovely ensemble of tea sandwiches (small finger size sandwiches) with fillings of cucumber, sliced meats and/or seafood, cream cheese & walnut, etc are essential followed by small hors d'oeuvres (like Devilled Eggs, Smoked Salmon, Mini-Quiches, Pate, Mini-Spring Rolls, etc).  (I have a selection that I will choose from my small hors d’oeuvres book).

Afterwards there is a selection of sweets and there is always cake for everyone to share along side tartlets, bite size pastries, scones, chocolates, and fruit and cheeses.  (I have a selection.)

Traditionally, the party is about helping the bride with the day before her wedding, the day of her wedding, the days away on her honeymoon, and with the small niceties for her to help with setting up for future afternoon entertaining.  I have selected a day and time for you to help our special bride with her wedding (this can be an item or something appropriate that you think she will need, words of advice, or a written memory/poem to share). There is a list of suggested items to help our special bride with her next steps with entertaining in the future.

Afterwards, the special bride will open each gift and share with us those special gifts for her future.  Now, this is something I should let you know … that you are expect to defend you gift.  This means sometimes you might be expected to explain the special gifts you have chosen for the bride and how it will help her before/on/after her wedding day or into her next steps.

This is a time of laughter and friendship as all of us girls welcome our special bride into marriage.
